Current work
Recently Zachary Eastwood-Bloom has worked on two significant residencies, one with the Pangolin Edition bronze foundry and the other with the Scottish Ballet. For Pangolin, he created a body of work based on the Greek gods that represent the planets of the Solar System. He located existing statues of the gods and 3D scanned them, before digitally distorting them, using satellite imagery of the planets they represent. For the resulting show, ‘Divine Principals’, the sculptures were then digitally printed and then cast in bronze, silver and cast iron.
More recently he has been the artist in Residence within the Scottish Ballet. Working with different choreographers, he made three films that explore different aspect of our digital society through different characters from Greek mythology.
Zachary Eastwood-Bloom is also working on a large-scale public sculpture commission for the West Ham area of London and a large bronze sculpture for a hotel in Central London.
