DECOREX X NATASHA MANN

We collaborated with the talented Natasha Mann, a decorative artist who uses traditional methods, to design our 2025 creative.

Natasha Mann began her training as an apprentice in Fes, Morocco, followed by an MA at the King’s Foundation School of Traditional Arts. Natasha usually works with natural pigments, egg tempera and 24 carat gold leaf and all of her geometric designs are hand-drawn with a compass and ruler.

About Natasha Mann

Natasha is an artist who uses traditional methods to create bespoke pieces for interiors and fine artworks. Her work is inspired by decorative art traditions from around the world, with a particular focus on traditional Moroccan architectural painting on wood. She studied this form of Moroccan decorative painting during a year long apprenticeship with a Master in Fez.

Decorex X Natasha Mann

Having been featured at Decorex on the Making Spaces feature, it was clear that Natasha Mann was a favourite among our attendees. Not only does the interiors community love Natasha’s approach to decorative design, but her traditional methods really captivated Decorex attendees' imaginations.

Natasha Mann's Design Style

All of Natasha's pieces are made from natural materials, using hand ground pigments mixed with egg tempera and 24 carat gold leaf. Her geometric designs are all hand drawn using a compass and ruler. These decorative paintings are created for interiors such as panels, murals and ceiling designs; small decorative objects such as boxes and lamps; and individual framed paintings and drawings.

WHAT INSPIRED YOUR DESIGN FOR DECOREX?

"I wanted to create a design that celebrated the Victorian origin of the building. The geometric pattern I have drawn is inspired by decorative designs from this era which were popularised in the Grammar of Ornament by Owen Jones. The concentric circles and flowers echo the shapes in the facade of the building and along the balconies.  My design is hand-drawn using a compass and ruler and then painted using natural earth pigments mixed with egg tempera and 24 ct gold leaf."

The Creative

“We’re absolutely thrilled to have had Natasha Mann design our creative for Decorex this year. Her bold, expressive style and deep understanding of decorative arts feel perfectly aligned with the spirit of the show. Natasha’s design will transform our creative journey for 2025 whilst honouring the craftsmanship and elegance at the heart of Decorex.”

NATASHA MANN'S PROJECTS

Natasha’s projects use traditional techniques and materials. This usually begins by drawing the initial geometric designs by hand with a compass and ruler, then hand-cutting the stencils, and then painting using the ancient method of egg tempera with natural pigments and gilding with 24-carat gold leaf.
