Sustainability Awards

The Decorex Sustainability Awards celebrate exhibitors demonstrating outstanding achievements in sustainability within the interiors industry. Through recognising exhibitors leading the way, the awards aim to inspire and encourage further progress towards a more sustainable future.

In 2024 we are introducing four awards categories:

  1. Planet Conscious: Celebrating exhibitors who are committed to reducing their environmental footprint.

  2. Social Change: Celebrating exhibitors who are committed to social betterment for their employees, suppliers and communities

  3. Circularity: Celebrating exhibitors who embrace the circular economy, designing products for longevity and sustainability

  4. Sustainable Innovation: Celebrating exhibitors who push the boundaries of design by integrating sustainable materials and techniques into their products or ranges

We look forward to showcasing exhibitors who are creating a positive impact across each of these areas.

Our 2023 awards went to Soho Lighting and House of Hackney

The Soho Lighting Company

Sustainability has been part of The Soho Lighting Company’s mission from the outset. Sustainability is central to the brand’s design process and business practices. From the choice of materials and manufacturing methods, to consideration of a product’s lifecycle and circularity, Soho Lighting are committed to making a positive impact on people and planet.

Their core collection is crafted from natural materials such as hand-blown glass and solid brass; its lights have outstanding energy efficiency and operate with low wastage; and the company is on the journey towards B Corp journey, while also working towards becoming plastic-free in 2024.

House of Hackney

Transitioning from a B Corp to a regenerative brand, House of Hackney is doing things differently to bring about social and economic change, promoting the restoration and regeneration of natural resources and social systems.

It means going beyond simply ‘sustaining’ and instead, actively making things better. From how their raw materials are farmed and the farmers who grow them to the craft people who make the finished product, the team who sells them and everyone and everything in between, it means ensuring people and planet are considered at every touch point.
