Decorex is always viewed as the ultimate destination Design event and in 2011 they certainly proved it. With exhibitors and attendees jetting in from all over the globe, for one week in September last year the Royal Hospital in Chelsea was the only place to be.
From the moment you passed through the Nicky Haslam designed entrance you really got a feel for the quality of the show. Decorex has always been about the wonderful products featured and they are very selective about the companies exhibiting.

I discovered so many good new suppliers at Decorex 2011 that it is hard (and a bit unfair!) to single out any one but some to mention include Stuart Scott, Dominic Schuster and Pinch. The Little Greene Paint Company was also a hit with many visitors - their huge colourful objects, including a bright red soldier were loved by all. And So to Bed was also a must visit stand even if the free ice cream did help! The beautiful fabrics of De La Cuona won a well-deserved two awards for their stand.Dominic Schuster Little Greene
De Le Cuona And So To Bed
The seminar programme was as packed as ever, and featured many superstars of the Design world. Martyn Lawrence-Bullard spoke about the interiors he designs for celebrities and revealed his dream client would be Lady Gaga. Holly Becker provided a great insight into how to grow your design blog into a business. We can expect more of the same this year.
Decorex is also a great place to catch up with your industry friends and last year the very best place to do this was the Champagne bar designed by Martin Hubert. Featuring a huge ‘Love’ themed chandelier I shared many glasses of champagne with fellow designers here, while networking of course. This time Rabih Hage is in charge of creating the ultimate place to rest your feet at Decorex.

Decorex turns 35 this year so they will be reflecting on the events of the design world since it started. Focusing on the iconic moments in design, the personalities and the products since 1978 the show is bound to even surpass last year’s standard. See you there on the 23rd of September?
