The Mirage is the newest edition to David Harber’s interiors collection and an exciting introduction to his beguiling interactions with light and reflection. Creating a dialogue with its immediate surroundings, the sophisticated design features a convex mirror to distort reflection and usher the viewer into another dimension. The Mirage will be launched at Decorex International, 18-21 September at Syon Park, London.
Forming the outer body, matte dappled blue verdigris succeeds the burnished warmth of hammered copper in perfect contrast to the cold clarity of the glass. Beyond the outer circumference of the Mirage, integrated LED lights give an ethereal halo of copper reflections.
“The Mirage encapsulates a moment where a perfect source of light is domineered by nature’s materials, the distorted mirror mimicking the gentle ellipse of the sculpture itself. It is, to all intents and purposes, an all-seeing azure eye.” David Harber, artist, sculptor and founder of David Harber.
