Giovanna Ticciati to launch new table at Decorex

Category:

Furniture designer Giovanna Ticciati will launch her latest design, the Parterre coffee table, at this year's Decorex. Inspired by a box parterre in winter which was covered in frost, the striking contemporary table is made up of long, thin rectangles interlocking, and features a glass top. 36 pieces in total combine to make what looks like a simple design, but is in fact, relatively complicated.

'When I had a prototype made (in bronze) the table sagged in the middle! It was a very expensive mistake! I redesigned it with the floating top so the frame underneath the top gives it its strength and the top can remain delicate without danger of sagging,' Giovanna explains. 'As the design developed it took on more of a chinoiserie feel which is what drew me to making the first one red.'

The base is available in any RAL colour including metallics with glass in clear, smoke or bronze. It measures H40 x W120 x D80cm, but bespoke sizes are available. You can see the table on Giovanna's stand B61, and she also has a shop in Petworth (pictured below).
