Anna Dodonova is an international interior designer. Here, she shares her thoughts on this year's show...
This year I felt like there was lots of 'fresh air' at the show. A new era of three-dimensional design is developing more and more every year. It was difficult to identify any particular trends - every stand is so different and has so many different finishes, textures and designs. The show is the perfect balance between the four elements: wood, metal, glass and stone!
I particularly liked the fact that more international brands exhibited. Talking of international brands, I visited the French Furniture Export Group (GEM) stand and I think they deserve to win best International Exhibitor at Decorex this year. I really liked the Henryot & Cie curved chairs in classic design that are connected to each other in as a modern wave! And the mix of different fabric patterns and colours makes it really outstanding.
Also on the Roselle Paris stand, I liked the strong orange and the contrast with the white fabric was very striking and the shape of the chair is very unusual, this is a lovely star piece of furniture in a neutral space.
Spina had my favourite accessories, always so creative and glamorous! This year’s the pieces were very special with the mixture of different colours and materials incorporated in the lights.
On the Ochre stand, I spotted this original design - a 'light' interpretation of a chandelier with the mix of glass and metal.
De Ferranti had my favourite colour concepts; beautiful stone and mother-of-pearl tiles. I love the geometric patterns, so artistic and sophisticated. The reflection of the different finishes makes them really special.
Kandola offered three-dimensional wallpaper with fabric and also the option of Swarovski crystals. The texture was beautifully soft. I also liked the colour combination: eclectic and very bright.
Perucchetti Plastering offers traditional Venetian polished plaster of the finest quality in numerous textures and colours. Lots of modern designs and textures to suit any type of projects, as well as a fully bespoke service.
