Established artist Regina Heinz, best known for her ceramic sculptures and reliefs, is preparing to launch a new collection of hand-painted tiles at this year's show, bringing her distinctive, abstract designs firmly into the interior design world.
There are two ranges available in the collection: Flow and Cityscape. 'The first range alludes to the seductive appeal of water: its dancing surface, rippling patterns, reflected sunlight and cool depths,' Regina explains. 'The second range, Cityscape, introduces more graphic elements, evocative of modern architecture, space and perspective.'
Echoing her art pieces but with a more muted, simplified design, the wall tiles are available in 3D and flat versions, and can be combined and repeated in different ways to create unique installations for both public spaces as well as private homes. The tiles are all hand-painted, glazed and then high-fired by Regina in her studio in south London, and thanks to their hardwearing nature can be used both indoors and out.
Both ranges are available in a vibrant palette of transparent blues, soft greys and whites, or an earthier range of terracotta, rich brown and yellow ochre. The collection will be displayed at Decorex 2012, and can then be seen on Regina's website, Ceramart.
