Salon Libertine London: A New Expression in Interior Design
A London-based luxury interior lifestyle brand offering textiles, wallpaper and accessories. We embrace the joy of unrestrained colour, with a palette to uplift the senses.
Our dramatic debut collection, Ephémère, is an expression of the fleeting beauty of nature, with timeless elements celebrated in decorative style. Insouciant butterflies, loosely painted clouds and flowers play amongst richly layered abstract backgrounds. The designs are inspired by the masters of Colourist, Impressionist and Expressive painting, fused with a knowledge of 18th and 19th Century European Decorative Arts, as well as emerging Abstract artists from the London art scene. Colours are heavily influenced by travels to the South of France, India and Morocco.
Our textiles and wallpapers are printed to order in Great Britain, using locally sourced base cloths wherever possible and artisan businesses with hundreds of years of experience.
By collaborating with established artists, The Monkey Puzzle Tree creates uniquely beautiful fabrics and wallpapers, bringing individuality to both residential and commercial interiors.
Each artist has their own distinctive style which is reproduced using a range of innovative techniques, from the centuries old to the cutting edge. Designs range from the vibrant and expressive, through to the dark, naughty, and the conceptual, suiting both contemporary and period interiors whilst avoiding the traditional and mundane.
A strong social conscience is at the core of the business, with artists paid a generous royalty and all products made in well established English factories to the highest environmental standards.
The Vale London was founded in 2017 by Melinda Marquardt. After working in sales for an American textile company for seven years, she decided to start up her own business.
Partnering her education in fine art with her many years of sales experience, Melinda created the Vale London to provide exquisite textiles and wallpapers to the luxury interiors market.
Each pattern starts out as an original piece of art work; illustrated by hand and produced by the finest mills. Each metre of fabric or roll of wallpaper is a piece of art for the home. Texture, colour and design work symbiotically to create each unique piece. Melinda creates timeless designs that will adorn windows and walls for many years.
