The Bar

Paula May Evans was the Bar designer for 2019. Paula is a London based Interior Stylist and Set Designer, who will be working in collaboration with Cameron Gardens. Having studied as a Photographic Artist and retrained within Interior Design, Paula approaches styling, art direction and creative consulting with a curative eye.

This year’s Bar will feature four garden zones, each area is inspired by the recent rise of floral design and its application to interior trend. The four garden zones will consist of:

Amazonian Jungle Garden

With lush tropical planting, deep green oversized leaves, palms and brightly coloured blooms this area features bold colours, botanical print, luscious velvet and glimpses of gold.

Abandoned Dessert Garden

Here the dry terrain is eclipsed by a golden sun, dusty rocky dunes and shimmering hints of reflection from metallic furniture. Futuristic design, intriguing form, luxurious fabric.

English Country Garden

Soft wild flowers dancing in between long grasses, imagine an oil painting, a masterpiece. Elegant furniture, made with craftsmanship, traditional, delicate pattern and pastel shades.

Urban Industrial Garden

A concrete landscape, disused abandoned wasteland, here the plants reclaim their habitat. Weed-like and maybe even unclassified but beautiful all the same. Furniture in this space will be minimalist, functional, almost silhouettes acting as architecture within the space.

The Designer

Paula has worked as an interior and prop stylist for commercial, editorial and television with brands such as Channel 4, Not on the High Street, Monsoon and many more. She has supported well-known titles such as Wallpaper* Magazine, Homes & Gardens Magazine & Living Etc Magazine.

“Current trends in design have seen a rise in our love of house plants, including the botanical in our homes, workplaces and public spaces. At Decorex, I hope to showcase a blend of interior and exterior trend, discovering how they support each other. “ – Paula May Evans
