Letter to the industry
Over the past five months, the team has spoken to more than 100 customers and conducted third-party research via McCann to gain a deeper insight into exhibitor and visitor needs. Those conversations have culminated in a series of planned improvements for Decorex 2018, each designed to ensure a refreshed, refined and seamless experience for everyone.
As an event synonymous with exquisite interior design, it’s essential that Decorex continues to attract the finest exhibitors and visitors. The two are inextricably linked, yet in the past couple of years the vetting procedure has perhaps been too flexible.
For Decorex 2018, we’ve introduced a much stricter application process and businesses who don’t meet the required criteria have been actively turned down. That means the show will be a little smaller, and we hope you’ll see a marked improvement.
The residential location and road system around Syon Park creates challenges that we acknowledge and understand, so we’re doing everything possible to improve your experience for 2018, including:
Access / Exit Decorex now has a separate dedicated entrance and exit for all complimentary shuttle bus and taxi services, helping to improve journey times when arriving by public transport. We can also confirm that parking restrictions will be in place on Park Road throughout the four days to allow traffic to flow more easily.
Parking All attendees will be asked to pre-book parking requirements, enabling better
management of traffic flow and appropriate numbers of traffic management personnel.
Valet Parking for VIPs VIP attendees will have access to a valet parking service to minimise their time spent in queues on entry and exit, and maximise their time spent in the show. Traffic Management There will be more traffic management personnel around the grounds to help facilitate these improvements.
3) Decorex Collective
The newly launched Decorex Collective is a chance for us to engage further with senior level designers and major design practices and offer them a more refined experience - not only at the show, but also throughout the year.
Members can expect exclusive invitations to events year-round, complimentary entry to Decorex, a new VIP party and valet parking. VIPs will be invited to sign up to the Collective over the next couple of months.
4) Decorex Social Programme
The show sits at the heart of the interior design community. And bringing that community together beyond those four days as well as creating more networking opportunities is of utmost importance. We’re therefore launching the Decorex Social Programme, which will include:

Decorex Talks – June
The first in an exclusive series - current exhibitors and VIP guests are invited to join us for an evening of education and networking while viewing the latest photographic exhibition at the Gallery. Full details to come.
Exhibitor Thank You Party, 16th September, Syon Park
Join us for thank you drinks on the Decorex Sunday evening where you can socialise with other exhibitors and meet the Decorex team.
Decorex 2018 Party, 18th September, Syon Park
For the first time ever, Decorex invites all exhibitors and members of the Decorex Collective to an exclusive evening party on the Tuesday evening of the show. You can expect food and drink, entertainment and plenty of networking opportunities.
6) Improving the pre-show and onsite experience
From the cuisine that’s served to the venue’s ambiance, attention to detail is key in ensuring you have the best possible experience both pre-show and onsite. For that reason, several subtle improvements will be made over the coming months. We hope you’ll begin to notice the little touches – starting with the launch of Decorex Cares. 7) Commitment to the best possible customer service
Customer care at Decorex should be as exquisite as the design it showcases. For that reason, and to acknowledge that our service levels need improvement, we’ve set up [email protected].
