Simon Hasan

Simon Hasan is a designer working across product, furniture, interiors and consultancy for both private and commercial Clients. His experience includes working with leading branding agencies, luxury fashion and homewares brands and more recently with one of the world’s leading interior design studios. Hasan’s prior experience in brand communication, allows him to combine creative and strategic thinking, with a belief in the power of design to tell brand stories.

Equally comfortable with designing one-offs or mass-produced objects, Hasan’s work is exhibited and sold internationally, including his eponymous furniture and accessories label. Hasan works between the boundaries of crafts and industrial design, focusing on the use of techniques and materials from these two often contradictory worlds. He gradauted from the Roya College of Art in 2008 and for many years was a tutor in their Design Products Department.

At Future Heritage

Hasan created a range of new leather works for Future Heritage. An evolution of his Vase Family project, resulted in a trio of wing-like vessels in boiled leather and resin with oversized brass hardware. In addition, he presented a table in wet moulded, vegetable tanned leather with an exaggerated and contrasting seam detail.

Current work

Hasan is currently working on a range of homewares for Berluti - five vessels that will become part of the iconic French brand’s first homewares collection. The leather vessels are made in London, before being finished by Berluti using their signature patination techniques. In 2019 he created the Panerai challenger trophy.

For the past year Hasan has also been working with David Collins Studio on interior design concepts across residential and commercial sectors.
