Decorex International's social heart and a must-see installation each year, 2016 visitors enjoyed a space designed exclusively by 1508 London in which to relax, unwind and socialise with the interior design community.
Joining a stellar line-up of celebrated names who have created Champagne Bars for previous editions, including Russell Sage, Les Trois Garçons and Martin Brudnizki, we're busy planning a special space in which to celebrate the 40th edition of Decorex International.

"Our concept for the Champagne Bar was 'Deconstructed Classicism' which was inspired by the progression of design, from its classical origins to modern design and current trends. The scheme deconstructs and reconstructs the route of design in the luxury market by adapting and exploring geometry, detailing and materials that are still present in modern and contemporary design. Our proposal for the Decorex Champagne bar 2016 explores basic geometrical arrangements in plan, then deconstructs the classical and basic shapes both in form and by embedding classical and modern detailing.
"The bold archway leads onto and frames a beautiful piece of artwork of The Pantheon produced by Quintessa. We worked with some amazing suppliers to finish the design and give the bar the integrity of materials that you'd expect from the classical period - for example, we had a stunning 'Matrix' sculpture from David Harber and an Alabaster bar by Atelier Alain Ellouz."
On the show in general, Shona comments:
“Decorex 2016 was excellent, it had a great variety of good suppliers and the ambience was lovely. The design of all the areas were well through and it was amazing to be part of the Decorex team this year. It was a great forum for networking and generally catching-up with people in the industry, especially at the Champagne bar!”
