Herme y Monica "Spain Loves Fabrics"
|
ICEX, the Spanish institute for foreign trade, has commissioned the Spanish design duo Herme y Monica to create a new and exciting textile installation at this year’s show. The design of the new space will be titled “Spain loves Fabrics” and is based on the concept of the fan, an iconic object that in the 19th and 20th century was used as a communication tool between lovers. The company’s design work has created a real buzz in the interiors world, catapulting the designer duo Herme Ciscar and Mónica Garcia into the spotlight. Their work now involves industrial, graphic and interior design projects for companies such as Metalarte, Lampister and RQM. Noted work in recent years |
Passion is at the heart of this installation for Decorex, reflected in the stunning fabric, colour and design that are used throughout. The installation is designed in the shape of a closed fan and large circles of fabric will hang from the ceilings. Each pendant will display fabrics from Spanish textile manufacturers including Alarwool, Alhambra, Color de Seda, Garin, Hijos de Antonio Ferré, Naturtex, Revert, Rioma, Sati, Texturas Por Alexandra and Ybarra y Serret and will be illuminated by light, transforming the space into a vibrant, inspirational and contemporary showcase for Spanish textile design.
