Exhibitors at this year's Decorex are starting to put plans in place to create beautiful displays of brand new products. As in previous years, companies seem to be making maximum effort to ensure a beneficial presence at the show.

Decorex always plays host to a wide range of products and this month we focus on some of the furniture companies involved and look at the nominees for the Brit Insurance Awards. These are "the Oscars of the design world," which showcase the most innovative and forward thinking designs from across the globe.

Until next time…

Leading French interior architect to design Decorex stand

Jean Louis Deniot       The Par Excellence stand will be designed by one of the top ten up and coming interior architect and designers in the world, Jean Louis Deniot. Jean Louis has not only designed the Coco Chanel Suite in the Paris Ritz hotel, but also a luxurious entryway for the showhouse penthouse at Trump Park Avenue in New York among many others.

Deniot has a prominent international clientele and works on other public and private projects across Asia, Europe and the United States including residential and commercial spaces such as apartments, bars, hotels, offices, boutiques.

Par Excellence will exhibit for the first time at Decorex International this year,
bringing together the finest craftsmen of the French art world including chandeliers, flooring, wrought-iron artworks, ornaments and woodwork pieces.

The brands that will be showcased on the Par Excellence stand include Mathieu Lustrerie (www.mathieulustrerrie) who produce collections of decorative chandeliers, lamps and other luminary pieces, Atelier Promethee (www.atelierpromethee) who craft incredible terracotta sculptures and Atelier Perrault (www.ateliersperrault) who excel in joinery, cabinet making and creating ornamental wrought-iron artworks.

"Jean Louis is a close friend of mine and I am really excited that he is designing the Par Excellence stand for me. I launched my company in September 2009 and was determined to showcase at an exhibition in London and there is nowhere better than Decorex International. I think Decorex International has greatly improved over the last few years and has become a much more upscale event, the perfect platform for Par Excellence to introduce three of the very best French craftsmen to the British community." Munira Bonnet, Par Excellence.

The Oriel chair       In the first of a number of product focuses, we look at some of the key exhibitors who will be showcasing furniture at Decorex in September. Although many are still in the planning stages of launching new products this year, we can still keep you up to date with the wide ranges of beautiful pieces that you will definitely be seeing at the show.

"This year we are very excited to be returning to Decorex. It''s an excellent environment to show our furniture and in my view it is still the only high end interior design show that counts." Tom Faulkner.

Tom will be showcasing The Galena Table, a new and beautiful piece of modern
design. The multi-faceted metal pedestal base supports a piece of shaped 15mm glass that has a Quartz like quality, but was in fact inspired by the BAT 11 concept car by Bertone!

The Oriel chair is a new fully upholstered dining chair, a classic and elegant shaped chair with a gently rolled back. Moving away from steel which Tom is renowned for, this has a solid beech wood frame.

Decorus Furniture will not only be launching new products to add to their existing collections, but also showcasing their stunning ranges of furniture, lighting and decorative accessories.

"Decorex International is a superb exhibition that I have attended for many years. I considered it an absolute must to help launch the new Decorus brand and we were not disappointed with the high quality and quantity of visitors. Our stand was busy from start to finish and consequently, the run- up to Christmas saw a significant increase in enquiries and sales opportunities, which has continued into the New Year.  We re- booked immediately and our only dilemma was whether we should increase the size of our stand for 2010." Richard Hart, Decorus Furniture.

Decorus will bring the Pompei console table, which has been created by forge-hammered steel with a platinum finish and a grey maple top, also available in other finishes such as Florentine gold, Antique gold, platinum silver and bronze. The Juno coffee, side and console tables will also feature at the show, all made with pewter with a grey maple top.

"Collection Pierre are very excited to be exhibiting at Decorex International this year.  Having launched a new London showroom on Bourne Street SW1 in 2009 we felt that Decorex was the perfect platform for us to personally reach our clients (old and new) and present some of Collection Pierre’s iconic and staple pieces as well as revealing some new furniture and upholstery designs from the MMX Collection." Laura Linnell, Collection Pierre.

Collection Pierre will show some iconic pieces from their past and present collections, as well as new designs that have only until now been sketches in their ‘things to come’ range.

Collection Pierre is internationally known with major interior designers like David Collins, Kelly Hoppen, David Linley and Nicolas Haslam, who have, and still continue to use Collection Pierre’s furniture in both private houses and hotel-commissioned design schemes. Examples can be seen at Claridges and the Four Seasons London, and forthcoming projects are planned for the Savoy dining room and Le Poussin.

Today, the collection continues to grow under the acclaimed eye of designer Jean-Louis Deniot (who will design the Par Excellence stand this year) who follows the exacting principles of beauty and comfort laid down by the original artistic leadership of John Hutton, and interprets them in a new, elegant and fresh style.
