Make a date in your diary for INTERIORS UK, the UK’s largest trade interiors exhibition, held at the NEC from 20-23 January. 2013 promises to be bigger and better than ever, offering retailers, designers and architects a vast selection of products from more than 500 of the leading international interiors manufacturers.
This year Nina Campbell (pictured above) will be designing the main show entrance, basing the designs on one of her new damask wallpapers. Her concepts will be brought to life by leading stylist Diana Civil. Other highlights include a Pitfield (pictured top) pop-up shop in the wifi cafe in Hall 4.
There's also the Fabric Pavilion (pictured below): designed by Shaun Clarkson ID, and featuring fabrics from many key designers including Timorous Beasties and Mulberry.
Designersblock will be returning to the show - this year creating a 'department store', featuring different departments including furniture, accessories, toys, and lighting, all sourced from designersblock’s vast network of young designers and designer-makers.
New for 2013 is the Contract Lounge in Hall 1, which will be designed Matthew Rawlinson, who set up Raw Design in 1994 - an individual creative practice specialising in the design of award-winning contemporary social environments. These include cutting-edge bar, restaurant and nightclub design, country house estates, London townhouses, boutique hotels, varied retail spaces and corporate headquarters.
Finally, the work of the 16 finalists of the New Design Britain awards, the UK's leading student design competition, will be displaying their shortlisted pieces, with the winners announced during the show.
